Saudi BUild sets new record

01 November 2009

SAUDI Build/Stone 2009 set a new record in participation with more than 18,000 visitors attending the leading business-to-business construction and stone technology event in the region.

The total participation eclipsed last year’s record by 50 per cent, which has raised the profile of the event as a premier networking platform for key players in the region’s construction and stone markets.
Held at the Riyadh International Exhibition Centre, the event gathered high-profile business leaders and government officials from Saudi Arabia and around the world, and over 650 exhibitors from 38 countries. The exhibition also hosted national pavilions from Australia, Austria, Brazil, China, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, Portugal, Turkey, the UAE, the UK and a large group of local companies.
Mohammed Al Hussaini, deputy general manager of Riyadh Exhibitions Company, the show’s organiser, said: “The exceptionally high number of visitors and exhibitors has been a positive indication of the gradual resurgence of the region’s construction sector in the wake of the global economic downturn. It also underlined the important role of Saudi Arabia as a catalyst for growth.”
A number of companies expressed satisfaction with the response they received at the show, including Yamama Factories, which promoted a variety of red bricks such as load-bearing bricks, hollow bricks, as well as facing and decorative bricks and tiles, and Saudi Mas, which reported that its high-quality medical gas systems drew considerable interest.
