R+T Middle East rolls out expanded offerings

01 April 2010

R+T Middle East, the only specialised trade show dedicated to roller shutters, sun protection, doors and gates in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region, has generated great interest among key players in the region’s construction sector, according to Deutsche Messe Dubai and Messe Stuttgart, the joint organisers of the exhibition.

They attribute the growing interest to an unprecedented direct access to world-class expertise and the most modern solutions in the critical areas of sun protection, access control systems, and doors and gates.
R+T Middle East will be held next month (May 10 to 12), concurrently with Domotex Middle East 2010 – the Mena region’s only dedicated carpets and floor coverings exhibition – at the new exhibition halls of the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC) in Dubai, UAE.
The enthusiastic response from trade exhibitors and buyers has been more pronounced in the GCC, where demand has remained strong because of the huge number of projects under construction across Gulf countries, the organisers say.
With an estimated $540 billion in construction expenditure from 2009 to 2011, the UAE maintains its position as a potential market for trade participants of R+T Middle East followed by Saudi Arabia ($397 billion), Kuwait ($123 billion) and Qatar ($99 billion).
Angela Schaschen, managing director, Deutsche Messe Dubai Branch, says: “The GCC has been a very important growth market for sun protection, doors and gates, and access control systems because of the relatively large number of real estate projects being developed in the region. Moreover, visitors will greatly benefit from the expanded line of offerings and support facilities as R+T Middle East will be held in conjunction with Domotex Middle East.”
The GCC has emerged as a huge market for automatic, garage and industrial doors with the steady performance of the regional economy and improving standards of living, Schaschen continues.
“By the end of 2010, the world demand for automatic and electric doors is poised to exceed 100 million, with the GCC expected to account for a significant percentage in view of the massive development projects being undertaken in the region,” she adds.
The range of sun protection products to be showcased at the event include innovative control systems for indoor and outdoor sun protection, as well as doors and gates that operate more efficiently because of clever sensor technology, feature superior material and deliver improved cost savings for indoor temperature regulation. Innovative access control systems and high-technology doors and gates will continue to be in great demand with the growing number of security-sensitive projects.
The complete range of products to be showcased at R+T Middle East include roller shutters and accessories, window shutters and accessories; windows and accessories; awnings; Venetian blinds, roller blinds and blinds; doors, gates and accessories; drive and control systems; electrical security equipment; business fittings and furnishings; and various technical literature.
