Dubai to host largest China products fair

01 June 2010

THE largest China Sourcing Fair to be ever held in Dubai will take place this month along with the second annual Made in India – India Sourcing Fair, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre in the UAE.

The events, to be held from June 8 to 10, exclusively target importers, traders, and other volume buyers who purchase consumer products for resale to markets throughout the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region. More than 10,680 qualified buyers from 102 countries and regions attended last year’s events.
The fourth annual China Sourcing Fair organised by the Nasdaq-listed Global Sources has grown 18 per cent compared to last year, with more than 1,300 booths and seven exhibition halls. The fair remains the largest China products trade show in the Middle East.
“Demand for quality, competitively-priced China-made products has never been stronger,” said Bill Janeri, Global Sources’ general manager for the Middle East.
“Our China Sourcing Fairs have grown since their launch in Dubai in 2007 and attendance to the events has also grown, indicating that there continues to be a growing need for competitively made products from China. “Now, with the expansion of the India Sourcing Fair, we are able to offer buyers in the Mena region manufacturing options from the world’s top two sourcing markets – China and India,” said Janeri.
The China fair features manufacturers of consumer electronics, fashion accessories, gifts and premiums, home products, baby and children’s products, and hardware and building materials.
The India fair expands this year under the ‘Made in India’ theme to bring to Dubai an expanded array of some of India’s most competitive exporters of home products and handicrafts, gifts and premiums, fashion accessories, and garments and textiles.
The Made in India – India Sourcing Fair is supported by the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO).
