Domotex rolls our carpet fare
EXHIBITORS from 34 countries showcased a range of carpets and floor coverings at Domotex Middle East 2010.
About 225 exhibitors took part in the event that was held concurrently with R+T Middle East 2010, the Middle East spin-off of the show for roller shutters, doors, gates and sun-protection systems. More than 4,860 visitors attended the show held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Dubai, UAE.
Stuttgart sets stage for Resale
EXHIBITOR registrations for 17th Resale 2011, the world’s leading trade fair for used machinery and equipment, are well under way in Stuttgart, Germany.
The event will take place from April 6 to 8, 2011, on a 20,000-sq-m space as well as open air grounds at Europe’s most modern fair grounds – the new Stuttgart Trade Fair Centre. Around 500 exhibitors from more than 20 countries are expected to attend, showcasing over 160,000 varieties of machinery and equipment.
Resale is increasingly proving to be the most important platform worldwide for retailers of used metal working, wood working and plastics machinery, as well as for retailers of devices and equipment from the medical sector, commercial kitchen technology, rubber processing machinery, packaging machinery, construction machinery and robotics and automation. The expo is expected to widen its spectrum to include themes such as retooling, retrofit, rebuilt, remanufacturing, removal, reconfiguration and recycling.
iDesign a class apart
ABU Dhabi-based Alhosn University recently discussed prospects for interior design in the UAE market at a conference that brought together leading industry professionals and members of academia. The first annual iDesign Summit extensively analysed practices and trends affecting the UAE’s rapidly growing interior design market, which is estimated to involve an investment of Dh53.8 billion ($14 billion) in interior design contracts and fit-outs this year to meet surging demand for services.
Buildex ends on high note
BUILDEX 2010 ended on a successful note with the Syrian exhibition attracting a record volume of contracts and transactions, besides registering a higher volume of participation as well as bigger exhibition space.
The 16th edition of the international exhibition for construction held at the Damascus International Fairgrounds, Syria, brought together 759 companies representing 1,288 brands from 57 Arab and international countries. The exhibition highlighted the latest building and construction technologies and materials, covering areas such as air-conditioning, cooling and ventilation equipment, water and environment, stone, marble and paints, insulation materials, and security, safety and lighting systems.
