HILAL Conferences and Exhibitions (HCE), Bahrain, has decided to advance the dates for its flagship gulfBID and gulfINTERIORS exhibitions by one week.
The sixth annual gulfBID exhibition, for the construction sector, and the second gulfINTERIORS event, for the interiors, design and furniture sectors, will now run from April 26 to 28 next year. Both events, which run concurrently at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre in conjunction with the Green Building Forum, are traditionally held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister of the kingdom of Bahrain.
“The decision to bring our events forward into the last week of April as opposed to the traditional May timing has been arrived at after careful consideration and consultation with key exhibitors and other regional event organisers,” said Jubran Abdulrahman, managing director, HCE.
“In line with the current phenomenal growth and investment into the northern GCC economy, our events this year enjoyed a 77 per cent increase in visitor numbers from the region’s construction and interiors industries.
“It is essential as exhibition organisers that we recognise not only the business potential for exhibitors of our own geographical location, but are able to see the larger market as a whole, and take decisions based on the overall business needs of our clients,” he said.
Abdulrahman said he felt that moving the shows forward would achieve that and “allow the best possible advantages overall to our loyal exhibitor base”.
In 2010, visitors from 29 countries attended gulfBID and gulfINTERIORS, illustrating the events’ global reach and appeal. Participants from 21 countries exhibited at the events, recognising the huge potential of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the Northern Gulf states as developing economies, currently undergoing massive and rapid expansion across the events’ target sectors.
