Power-Gen to feed growing demand

01 September 2010

POWER-GEN Middle East 2010, the region’s premier conference and exhibition for the power and water industries, continues to deliver an excellent range of networking and learning opportunities for power and water industry professionals.

To be held from October 4 to 6 at Qatar International Exhibition Centre in Doha, Qatar, the show will focus particularly on project finance with several leading banks sharing their views on the availability of lending.
The strategic track will also feature a panel discussion that debates the evolving relationship between major project owners and contractors in the region plus a look at how nuclear power and renewable energy sources are emerging as part of the energy scene. There will be 21 sessions and around 80 speakers and plenty of opportunity to network with colleagues and industry contacts.
Over 3,000 industry professionals are expected to gather for three days to enjoy the industry’s leading conference and experience the latest developments and ideas for the future of the Middle East power and water sectors.
The event is being held in the backdrop of the growing demand for electricity and water across the entire region and GCC in particular.
Conference director Nigel Blackaby said: “The technical plant tours are a real highlight for the industry professional, as they gain a greater insight into the workings of two leading power and water plants in Qatar. We are grateful to Qatar Power, Ras Girtas Power Company and Mesaieed Power Company for opening their doors to Power-Gen Middle East and sharing their facilities and future ideas.”
The event will also offer delegates a unique opportunity to gain a rare insight to the state of the art facilities at the Ras Laffan B & C and the Mesaieed power complexes. The technical plant tours take place on October 4.
Power-Gen Middle East is owned and produced by PennWell Corporation, a highly-diversified, business-to-business media company providing authoritative print and online publications, conferences and exhibitions, research, databases, online exchanges and information products to strategic global markets.
