IN RESPONSE to growing worldwide demand for personal moments of relaxation and regeneration away from the stress and strain of today’s fast-paced lifestyle, Grohe has launched an innovative collection that transforms a bathroom into a personal spa.
Grohe Spa was one of the five themes at the company’s booth at this year’s ISH, the world’s leading trade fair for the bathroom experience, building, energy, air-conditioning technology and renewable energies, held last month (March 12 to 16) in Frankfurt, Germany. Other fascinating theme spaces at its stand included bathroom, shower, kitchen and sanitary systems – where the focus was on well-being, value and water.
“People are shifting many of their activities into their home and enjoying quality time in familiar surroundings. The bathroom is a key location in this context, shifting from a purely functional role into a setting for that special experience – a place where you can truly be yourself,” says a company spokesman. “Grohe Spa is based on this social trend. It revolves around bespoke functions for a truly personal spa experience. The word ‘spa’ evokes associations of complete well-being, luxury for all of the senses, physical and mental relaxation. And that is exactly what the premium products from Grohe Spa create, in your very own bathroom.”
The product range is uncompromising in terms of both functionality and design, serving up exactly what each person individually needs to create his or her own unique spa experience, he points out. The bathroom provides the architectural space; Grohe Spa provides the experience – adapted to suit personal preferences yet clearly structured.
The in-house Grohe Design Studio has created various Grohe Spa product collections in three different design styles: lozenge, square and round, for easy planning and clear, consistent design in the bathroom. Key products are, amongst others, the Grohe Ondus Veris, Allure and Atrio faucet lines as well as dedicated customised showers.
The options include single-lever mixers, two-handle faucets, wall outlets, freestanding faucets, thermostats and concealed mixers. Grohe Spa lends itself to total personalisation. Mechanical or digital control, ceiling and wall installed showers with aromas and coloured light, toilet flush plates with leather, wood or glass, and different illumination.
The Allure Brilliant faucet collection – among Grohe’s new line of premium faucets that was displayed alongside the Grohe Spa at ISH – helps transform the conventional bathroom into a private spa, combining world-class design with the full gamut of modern technologies and giving the good feeling of getting the maximum out of the bathroom.
“With its clean, angular shapes, the Allure faucet line clearly determines the style of Grohe Spa,” the spokesman says. “It is the epitome of the highest design standards, precise workmanship and a love for detail. Exact edges and cuts make it look truly unique. The diverse surfaces reflect the light in unique variations, just like the perfect gem. A consistent design philosophy guarantees harmony throughout the product line.
“Elongated cubes with chamfered edges rise from every faceted surface to meet at precisely defined intersections. This formula creates a harmonious link between all products of the faucet line. Allure Brilliant lends the bathroom a unique identity and an exclusive aura.”
“Allure Brilliant’s most extraordinary feature is the spout, which is a perfect epitome of Grohe craftsmanship. Its cut-out square ‘Aqua Window’ allows a unique view of the water flow – the perfect marriage of function and design,” he says. The flowing water thus becomes an integral element of the product design. The innovative opening makes the already slim design look even lighter and more elegant. Another striking design feature is the rectangular mousseur, whose shape matches the design of the faucet and provides an aesthetic, wide water flow. With its faceted three-dimensional surface, the lever is an eye-catcher, rising at an angle of exactly seven degrees.
“The faucet’s perfect looks are complemented by the modern technologies used within. Grohe EcoJoy ensures economical water consumption while at the same time providing the perfect water experience. Silky smooth operation of the lever is created by the Grohe SilkMove technology. And the Grohe StarLight treatment means the chrome surfaces will shine brilliantly for years to come,” the spokesman says.
The choice of designs comprises free-standing faucets for bathtubs and wash basins as well as four-hole combinations for the tub rim. Single-lever mixers with different spout heights, two-handle faucets, wall-mounted spouts with different lengths, thermostats and concealed fittings complete the range in terms of coordinated faceted bathroom design.
This choice is complemented by the new Sena Cube hand shower and matching accessories such as wall holders, tumblers, soap dishes and dispensers.
