AMS signs plastic pipes deal

ABU DHABI-based group Abdulla Al Masaood & Sons (AMS) has signed an agreement with Fränkische Rohrwerke, a leading German manufacturer of corrugated plastic pipes, which entails building and operating a corrugated plastic pipes factory in Abu Dhabi.

It will be implemented in two phases. The first phase will involve obtaining approvals from government authorities, and will include a focus on sales and marketing activities. The second phase will involve building the factory.

The agreement signed by Abdulla Al Masaood, chairman of AMS and Otto Kirchner, president and owner of Fränkische, is also aimed enhancing exchange in expertise and technology regarding the corrugated plastic pipes industry.

Humaid Al Masaood, deputy chairman of AMS, said: “Our agreement with Fränkische Rohrwerke is an important step in our progress as an Abu Dhabi-based group seeking an entry into the infrastructure industry. Furthermore, importing proven and tested technologies for the manufacturing of corrugated plastic pipes paves the way for progress and development in the emirate.”

Fränkische Rohrwerke is a family-owned German company that specialises in the supply of plastic-based building materials.
