RIYADH-based Dry Mortar Company (DMC), which produces pre-mixed mortars, now offers a new thermal and sound insulation in the form of a sprayable render that has already received recognition for its environment-friendliness.
The latest technology in insulating renders, DMC Insulation Render HR50 offers seamless spray-on heat and sound insulation with outstanding properties.
The product helped place DMC Saudi Arabia as a finalist in last year’s Gaia awards – the prestigious environmental awards given at The Big 5 exhibition in Dubai, UAE – and will be promoted at Saudi Build next month.
Naif Al Rakheis, assistant at the company’s quality and technical department, says: “HR50 is a pure mineral system, completely non-combustible, resistant to humidity and 100 per cent solvent-free. It can be used to insulate all surfaces including walls, columns, ceilings, roofs, and even trafficable areas such as terraces and balconies on both new and old buildings.”
Made with post-consumer recycled glass, HR50 is lightweight yet extremely pressure stable and completely safe to apply, use and recycle, he adds.
“With HR50, savings start from the beginning and continue for the entire life of the building. The reduced weight in wall construction lowers the demand for heavier engineering solutions as well as maintenance costs,” says Al Rakheis.
HR50 ensures protection of the building by lowering thermal loads, reducing moisture content in walls and in turn reducing the risk of concrete cancer. The energy demand as well as the size of the air-conditioning units is also substantially reduced, which means low carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and a much smaller energy bill.
DMC combines German ingenuity with the highest quality materials to produce innovative, readymix mortars developed especially for conditions in the Middle East. Its products include block-laying mortars, renders and plasters, thermal and acoustic insulation, a wide choice of textured finishes and pure mineral paints.
The company offers a complete wall system, from textured to smooth finishes, integrated insulation and over 1,500 colours. All products are pre-mixed to ensure spray application and world-leading quality.
“Complete DMC systems use the latest on-site continuous mortar mixing machines, silo systems for bulk supply and render spray machines for high efficiency application methods,” concludes Al Rakheis.
