01 May 2012

THE Middle Eastern construction sector drew significant interest at the ninth edition of Intermat Paris – the international exhibition of equipment, machinery and techniques for the construction and building materials industry, held last month (April 16 to 24).

The event held in Paris, France, attracted more than 1,400 exhibitors over an exhibition area of more than 375,000 sq m.

The show featured a dedicated Middle Eastern Day which highlighted regional opportunities for materials and machines.
Maryvonne Lanoë, Intermat Exhibition director, said: “The level of opportunity in the Middle East with regard to construction, infrastructure and manufacturing were greatly acknowledged by the European investors.

“In addition to Abu Dhabi’s Department of Economic Development (DED), Middle East Day at Intermat Paris attracted purchasing advisers, decision-makers, dealers, manufacturers and opinion leaders from both the Middle East and Europe.”

Several exhibitors stated that Intermat Paris and Intermat Middle East are perfect platforms to generate brand awareness for products and solutions. At Intermat Paris, companies such as Doosan, Bobcat, Portable Power and Montabert were successful in closing several major deals.

The second edition of Intermat Middle East will be held in October from 8 to 10, 2012 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec) in Abu Dhabi.
