Sennebogen’s latest goes on show at Intermat

01 August 2012

THE Middle East region is currently poised for growth in the construction and infrastructure sectors, said a senior industry expert, predicting that these sectors will experience successful development both in the short term and long term.

“There will be some boom markets like Qatar (2013 onwards, due to the World Cup 2022), Iraq and Egypt (after the political situation stabilises), but even in other markets like Oman, the UAE, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, we see good possibilities for the coming years,” Andreas Geier, general manager of Sennebogen Middle East, said ahead of this year’s edition of Intermat Middle East, which will held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec) in Abu Dhabi, UAE, from October 8 to 10.

The event, organised by Comexposium and its partner Clarion Events Middle East, will be held on over 20,000 sq m of exhibition space and is expected to be attended by more than 7,000 international buyers. It will feature a construction and infrastructure summit, contractor workshops and a hosted buyers programme.

Sennebogen, which returns this year following its participation in Intermat 2011, prides itself on being an industry leader in product innovation. It will this year launch its new cranes, the 655HD (55 tonne) and 6130HD (130 tonne) heavy-duty cycle crane for dynamic applications such as foundation works. It will also offer its latest telescopic crawler crane model 673R (70 tonne).

Furthermore, in the material handling division, Sennebogen will develop its new E-series, which is based on its green efficiency philosophy and launch new models like Sennebogen 8130, which is designed for ports.

Commenting on the event, Geier said: “The support and communication from the fair organisation was excellent. The combination with the World Ports Summit has given a positive touch, because customers could visit both events. Abu Dhabi is the right location for such an exhibition and we hope that it will be fully accepted by the customers from the Middle East, because there is no high-class construction equipment exhibition like this in this area.”
