Depa wins design contracts worth $196m

Leading interior contracting company Depa said it has signed contracts worth more than Dh719 million ($195.74 million) in the first half of this year following contract wins such as Madinat Jumeirah Extension and Dubai Opera in Dubai.

The company cemented its position in core markets in the Middle East while expanding into new international territories. Under a key contract. Depa’s Asia-based subsidiary Design Studio Group will supply kitchen and vanity cabinets to 626 First Avenue, a 756-unit luxury residential development along New York City’s East River.

Design Studio was also awarded three significant projects in Asia. The first is a contract for the alteration and addition of works at the 476-room Swissôtel Merchant Court Singapore; while the other two are hotel projects in Malaysia, namely interior design and fit-out work at the 150-room W Hotel Kuala Lumpur, and the interior design work for 220 rooms at the Ascott by Cairnhill hotel in Malaysia.

In total, Design Studio signed projects worth Dh126 million ($34 million) in the first few months of 2015.
