01 September 2020

Eagle Hills, a leading real estate investment and development company, has entered into a joint venture with Emaar Entertainment to bring an aquarium and underwater zoo to Marassi Galleria, the shopping mall at the heart of the Marassi Al Bahrain Development in Bahrain.

The joint venture agreement was signed by Low Ping, CEO of Eagle Hills, and Ahmad Al Matrooshi, Managing Director of Emaar Properties, sitting at their respective offices.

Upon its completion, Marassi Aquarium and Underwater Zoo will be an ideal edutainment zone within the Marassi Galleria. The first attraction of its kind in the kingdom, the state-of-the-art aquarium will span across 26,900 sq ft and will have a capacity to hold 360,000 litres of water and over 200 species of fish.

Operated by Emaar Entertainment, Marassi Aquarium and Underwater Zoo will feature an ultra-modern design and a 20-ft-long digital tunnel with multiple interactive digital exhibits. The aquarium will comprise four different ecological zones: The ‘Rainforest, the ‘Ocean Trench’, the ‘Jellyfish’ (Boom Room) and the ‘Reef Zone’, which includes ‘Lab of the Future’. These are in addition to 50 other thrilling exhibits with hundreds of animals which will make the aquarium comparable to other world-class aquariums across the globe.

Strategically located tanks and immersive tunnels within the exhibits will also allow visitors to come face-to-face with varied collections of aquatic life. Visitors can choose to enjoy a diving experience or assist in the feeding presentations that are held daily at Marassi Aquarium and Underwater Zoo.
