Italy-based Emicon has recently unveiled a new range of high-efficiency air-cooled chillers with dry expansion evaporators. Known as Air Performa EAH, the chillers with screw compressors are designed for operation with R134a, says the company.
The chillers have some innovative features including lower power consumption with a higher available cooling capacity; and the use of a counter-current-type dry expansion evaporator, according to a spokesman for Emicon.
'These evaporators are covered by international licence and offer very good performance as well as reductions in costs, overall dimensions and the quantity of the refrigerant required,' says the spokesman.
'The average COP (coefficient of performance) value achieved with this range is around 4, thanks to the design of exchangers and the development and enhancement of the screw manufacturing technique and electric motor dimensions of the screw compressors,' he says.
The main components of the units are:
Other features include a cooling circuit made of copper pipes, thermostatic valve, dehydrating filter, sight glass, shut-off valve on the liquid line, non-return valve on compressors discharge, high and low-pressure gauges, high and low-pressure switches and high-pressure safety valve.
Emicon offers a wide choice of equipment to meet various air-conditioning needs both in the civil and industrial fields. It offers water-cooled chillers, heat pumps, and rooftop and precision air-conditioners. The company has carried out major and prestigious supplies for industrial plants, computer centres, banks, GSM centres and industries. Of particular interest are air-conditioning projects carried out for museums and art galleries where the need of preservation of works of great value calls for sophisticated solutions, says the spokesman.
Emicon, which has its own website (www.emicon.it), has recently obtained the ISO 9001-2000 certification.
