Trion is marketing its Infinity modular air purifier cell and Diplomat portable air purifier as top-technology systems that efficiently tackle poor indoor air quality (IAQ) - one of the top environmental health risks listed by the US' Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Describing the Infinity modular air purifier cell as 'truly revolutionary', a Trion spokesman says the new modular electrostatic cell is a hybrid between commonly-used electronic air cleaners applied in ductwork and large expensive industrial units, giving users the power and performance of an industrial-designed system with the flexibility and efficiency of a commercially sized unit. 'The Infinity easily adapts to air handling systems used in airports, arenas, casinos, high-rise office buildings, hospitals, hotels, institutions, indoor stadiums, malls, museums, schools, theatres and other facilities, to collect various atmospheric contaminants.
'It is low-cost and highly adaptable for retrofit in today's commercial HVAC (heating ventilation and air conditioning) systems - the only known clean air technology of its kind.'
Sameer Abbas General Trading, a member of the SAT Group, is the authorised distributor of Trion USA products in the UAE.
The spokesman continues: 'Trion engineers have developed a unique innovative system with a modular, self-aligning and locking power distribution system, which means it's quick and easy to install with no field wiring or special cabinetry required. The Infinity modular air purifier cell is designed to replace traditional media or bag filters and can remove airborne particles as small as 0.01 microns.'
According to the spokesman, the Infinity reaches peak efficiency immediately upon installation and sustains a constant and consistent high level of air purification (up to 95 per cent ASHRAE 52.1). It maintains a static pressure of 0.25 inches H2O (62.3 Pa), resulting in virtually unobstructed airflow throughout the HVAC system and thus reducing electrical consumption by demanding up to 50 per cent less fan motor HP. Additionally, lower static pressure means less system noise and vibration.
'The combination of higher useful life filter efficiency and lower system static pressure unite for a revolutionary breakthrough in IAQ and energy savings,' he says.
Explaining the principle behind the operations, the spokesman says air is drawn into the unit and passes through a perforated pre-filter to capture large particles. The airborne particles then pass through an electronic field and receive an electrical charge. The charged particles move into a collector section where each alternate plate is charged with the same polarity as the particles, and repels them; the other set of plates is grounded, which attracts and collects the particles. The remaining air, cleaned up to 95 per cent of its impurities, is then returned to the plant or building.
By choosing Trion's Infinity modular air purifier cell, brake horsepower savings due to the reduced static press can be as much as 50 per cent, the spokesman says.
'Additional savings may also be achieved by a more efficient cleaning of the system air, which keeps the cooling coil cleaner, thus improving the heat transfer surface area,' he says.' Therefore, the overall energy savings can be increased due to the reduced demand on heating and cooling.
'The unique design of Trion's Infinity modular air purifier cell with 0.25-inch H2O (62.3 Pa) pressure drop allows for installation in new or existing systems. The Infinity can reduce your energy requirements for filtration by up to half.'
The spokesman adds that it operates at a constant level of efficiency throughout the annual cycle.
Meanwhile, Trion's Diplomat portable air purifier comes complete with the Forever Filter having a lifetime warranty.
The Diplomat is credited with superb air cleaning performance, effectively removing up to 99 per cent of airborne pollutants found in every home. Dirty air is drawn through the bottom half of the unit and clean air delivered through the top of the unit. The product is 'whisper quiet' for night-time application and has the highest certified 'clean air delivery rate' (CADR) in its class. Hidden castors make the unit easy to move from room to room.
The Diplomat has four elements: a pre-filter, which traps large particles such as dirt and dust; an ioniser, which electrically charges small particles such as smoke and pollen; a collector, which works like a powerful magnet to attract and retain charged particles, and a charcoal filter that helps remove common household odours.
The Forever Filter, the company says, never needs replacing and can be re-used after washing. The Diplomat is highly rated at 236 CADR by the American Association of Home Appliances Manufacturers (AHAM) AC-1 test standards. It has six air exchanges per hour in a 6 m by 6 m room and captures particles as small as 0.01 microns (AHAM).
The system operates in three speeds - high (544 cu m per hour), medium (400 cu m per hour) and low (250 cu m per hour) and weighs 16.8 kg. The recommended room area is up to 150 cu m with input voltage 220/240 V and power consumption 85W. The pre-filter comes as a metal mesh with the charcoal/antimicrobial after-filter available as optional.
Since 1947, Trion has been effectively cleaning indoor air for clients as demanding as the US Navy (nuclear submarine fleet) and providing quality products that serve a broad range of applications in the commercial and industrial markets.
In addition to Trion, Sameer Abbas General Trading represents such companies and brands as Alco Controls, Manson, J/B Industries Inc, Honeywell, Outokumpu Europe, Asian First Brand, Danfoss, ICM, Foster, Refrigerants, Therma Flo, Senior Flexonics, Weger, Metalac Sever, Bristol Compressors USA, GE, ITC, Streamline Mueller Industries, Satwell, TIF USA, Carrier, Vilter, Henry Valve Company and subsidiaries, KCC, Compoflex, Gulf-O-Flex, Kelon, Packless, Supaflex, Uniweld, Totaline, Thermopress, Azco, Copeland, Harris USA, Kyoritsu Japan, Products Unlimited and Tecumseh, among others.
