Epoc Messe Frankfurt is planning to organise a slew of exhibitions in May that are aimed at introducing the latest in various sectors to the fast growing market in the region. 

Four exhibitions – Hometech Middle East 2005, ISH Kitchen and Bathroom Gulf 2005, Lightstyle Gulf Light, Garden, Landscaping and Outdoor Living Show – will all be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from May 15 to 17. The shows are expected to attract over 18,000 visitors coming from within the UAE and beyond to the Gulf, North Africa, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia.
Epoc will also organise Houseware & Homestyle 2005 exhibition, which will be staged during May 28 to 30 at the same venue.

Hometech
Hometech Middle East 2005 is a dedicated show exclusively focused on domestic appliances ranging from refrigerators, washing machines, microwave ovens, vacuum cleaners, air-conditioning units right through to home entertainment systems.
The show will cater to a generation that expects remote systems for the ultimate push button lifestyle, home entertainment systems, white goods, designer kitchen appliances and trend-setting modern technology.
Over 200 exhibitors will be taking part in Hometech Middle East showcasing the latest trends in colours, themes, technology, materials and textures relating to the domestic appliance market. Major international manufacturers are a regular feature of Hometech Middle East and include companies such as General Electric, Olympic Group, Teka Kutchentechnik, Braun, Miele, Zass, Leibherr, Bosch, Siemens, BMI Bertoli, Electrostar, Palson and Highland Cooktops, and Alonsa.
The organisers have planned an extensive programme of workshops for leading brand name suppliers of home technology to present their products in a fully-equipped presentation theatre. Buyers from local retailers and interior designers will be invited to the sessions.

Kitchen & bathroom designs
Now in its second year, ISH Kitchen & Bathroom Gulf 2005 is the largest trade event of its kind in the Middle East focused exclusively on the kitchen and bathroom sector.
Co-located with Lightstyle Gulf, the show will feature over 85 companies from all over the globe showing over 200 different brand and more than 1,000 products, representing leading edge designs, materials and innovations.
Ceramics giants Villeroy & Boch and Kohler, Keramag Victoria & Albert Baths Twyford and upscale kitchen suppliers, Allmilmoe, Franke and Miele, and appliance specialists Rangemaster, Teka and Bosch make up an exhibitors list that reads like a who’s who of the kitchen and bathrooms industry.
Bespoke whirlpools from Kohler, exotic stone basins from Bati Bali and cherry wood bathtubs featuring mirrors with embedded TV screens from BMC Gulf are indicative of the extraordinary range of products being displayed.
In addition to the many international exhibitors, local manufacturers and suppliers play a major role in ISH Kitchen & Bathroom. The third largest ceramics producer in the world, RAK Ceramics features heavily at the event displaying some of its 6,000 model product range. Others include Topstone of Saudi Arabia and Mohamed Ibrahim Group of Dubai, add this to pavilions from Germany, the UK, Spain and Italy.
In addition to the stylish design focus of ISH Kitchen & Bathroom, this designer show includes everything else that goes into making kitchens and bathrooms work; kitchen and bathroom fittings, shower units, taps, sanitary ware, sinks, tiles, ceramics, specialised flooring and work surfaces.

Lightstyle
The second presentation of the region’s only dedicated lighting trade fair, Lightstyle Gulf Light, has grown in strength and now includes over 180 exhibitors participating from 20 countries – double the number from last year.
“The success of the show can be attributed to the design-led positioning along with dedicated areas featuring all aspects of the lighting, such as technical, decorative, architectural, commercial and industrial,” says a spokesman for the organiser.
“Another factor influencing the success of the show are the opportunities emerging for the lighting industry as a consequence of the building and infrastructure boom being witnessed throughout the Gulf area, especially in the UAE.”
Major international exhibitors including the likes of the main sponsors Osram together with Philips, La Nouva, Luce/Voltolina, Megaman, Lumes and Brass Light will be showing the latest trends in the market.
This year’s edition promises to be the biggest to date with products like Solid State Lighting, a new breakthrough in the lighting industry producing the first ever semiconductor light – emitting diodes (LEDs).
Osram will be launching two new incandescent lamps for the home – Active, to help people that are engaged in activities and Relax, to help create a warm atmospheric light in the home for rest and relaxation. Kraus Chandelier from Austria will be displaying the modern ‘Sky’ light, weighing in at a 150 kg which features a ephemeral design made up of a combination of round and irregular shapes, crystals, halogen bulbs and Plexiglas.
Leading local exhibitors will also be participating at the show such as the Sharjah-based Tecon which represents several architectural lighting brand including Vega Licht, Industria Lighting, Luxonic Lighting and Tecon. In addition Desert River, the exclusive distributors for the high quality Moonlight lighting system, will be using Lightstyle Gulf Light to introduce its new stone look range. Moonlight, manufactured in Germany, are decorative globes and half globes that can be used indoors and outdoors.

Gardens
The Garden, Landscaping and Outdoor Living Exhibition has grown by 75 per cent since its last edition held in 2004. Now in its third year, the show has already attracted 75 International exhibitors from 18 countries. 
New product launches at the show will include brand new irrigation systems from Europe and the Middle East with the latest in sprinkler and hydrations mechanics. Other new products include the 2005 models of lawn mowers and turf care machinery as well as golfing and leisure vehicles.
“The show will include ‘made to measure’ marble garden features from Asia in high quality and “seasoned” sandstone; innovative pool designs and construction and the latest water retention products – perfect for the region’s hot climate,” says the spokesman.
Exhibitors at this years show will include Fiskars along with its agent Al Fajer who will be showing its renowned range of garden tools; Helo from Germany, a long-established producer of bird feeders and nesting boxes; and Al Banna Marble, a specialist in the design, manufacturing and supply and fixing of marble tiles, decorative marble and stone items, to name a few.

Homestyle
Houseware & Homestyle 2005 – a dedicated show on the latest home textile designs, curtains, window decorations, crystal, glassware, tables, kitchen and houseware products – is expected to bring together more than 400 exhibitors from 20 countries, including the world’s leading suppliers of modern fabrics and houseware items.
Around 1,000 products will be on display showcasing the latest trends in colours, themes, technology and materials. In response to interest from the textiles industry Houseware & Homestyle will incorporate a new section called Home Textiles Middle East dedicated to all manner of fabrics.
Probus Mayfair, Sambonet, Adamo, Niagra Trading, Yamasen Fine Porcelain and Crystalix will display the latest to offer at the show.
The most dramatic and original addition to the show this year will be “La Bella Piazza” the first of its kind in a trade show in the Middle East, which will be a showcase within the hall of ‘All Things Beautiful’. allowing the world’s leading manufacturers to showcase their range of products including table sets, crystal, glassware, cookware and textiles, adds the spokesman.
The show is expected to attract over 17,000 visitors coming from within the UAE and beyond to the Gulf, North Africa, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia.
