Saudi Building and Interiors Exhibition (SBIE), one of the region’s leading exhibitions is well on course to surpass the previous year’s show with an unprecedented number of enquiries and bookings, when it opens at the Jeddah International Exhibition Centre in Saudi Arabia, from April 17 to 25.
Leading Saudi and Arab companies will be exhibiting alongside a record number of international companies from France, India, Italy, Germany, Spain, Taiwan, and will be joined by officially organised national pavilions from China, Cyprus and Thailand as well as the largest ever group participation from Turkey with an area exceeding 1,000 sq m.
Running concurrently with the exhibition will be a series of high profile symposia organised by the prominent Saudi Council of Engineers – Makkah Al Mukaramah.
Says a spokesman for the organiser Al Harithy Company for Exhibitions Limited: “SBIE 2005 will provide a unique showcase for manufacturers and suppliers. Whether new to the market or simply wishing to increase brand awareness, the exhibition will provide the marketplace in which to meet the key Saudi players in the various areas of the kingdom’s construction industry.
“The construction industry in the kingdom has developed significantly over the years, and with increasing focus on domestic and commercial projects, the building and interiors sectors have become highly sophisticated and increasingly inseparable.”
“The exhibition provides the perfect platform for companies to take advantage of the current boom. Established as a key event in Saudi Arabia, the exhibition is highly supported with participation from international companies, leading Saudi manufacturers, agents and distributors,” he adds.
The annual exhibition was a resounding success for exhibitors and visitors alike in 2004 with 260 international and Saudi exhibitors and 11,713 visitors of varied professions arriving from throughout the kingdom and neighbouring Gulf and Arab states.
“As a first experience to my company, the response we received is encouraging. I got what I expected from the show,” said a spokesman for Madaschi Granite Tiles, Italy, one of the participants at last year’s show.
A similar positive response was received from another participant Alf Electric Company, Saudi Arabia who had signed a deal with a Saudi contractor to supply wiring accessories worth $8 million for a venture of 1,500 residential villas in Africa.
“SBIE is a good opportunity to establish business contacts with the main local market players,” added a French pavilion representative.
SBIE 2005 is supported by the Saudi Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and the Mayoralty of Jeddah.
