CMS Acoustic Solutions, a leading UK-based distributor of acoustic products, has announced plans to increase the penetration of its portfolio in the UAE.
Working in partnership with its distributors in the UAE, the company – which launched its impact sound portfolio at the Big 5 exhibition late last year – delivers a range of acoustic solutions in Dubai and is looking forward to extend its reach to the rest of the UAE.
“As the sole distributor for the complete Regupol range in the UK and the UAE, CMS Acoustics can offer competitive prices on an unrivalled product range, a position that is further enhanced by the addition of CMS-manufactured materials,” says a company spokesman. “This means CMS Acoustics can always deliver a high-performing and cost-effective solution, for any construction or industrial acoustic application.”
Over the years, the company has strengthened its expertise in all areas of acoustics provision, from supply through to specification and installation.
“By forging a number of partnerships with leading acoustic manufacturers, we ensure that we can always deliver the best price for any type of development,” says managing director Lee Hackett.
“CMS also realises that its team must be acoustically trained if it is to deliver reliable advice on product properties, applications and installations. This means working closely with manufacturer-partners to ensure its team is up to date with the latest product developments – particularly relevant for the Regupol range, which forms a major part of the CMS impact sound portfolio,” says a company spokesman.
Regupol range
'Manufactured in Germany by BSW, all Regupol products are made from recycled materials and deliver competitive acoustic solutions that attenuate impact sound at source,” he adds.
“Core products in the range include the Regupol 7210C and Regupol 4515 – both of which are used in new-build development projects. Should a need emerge for a new solution, CMS Acoustics will work with the relevant partner to develop one. A recent example of this is the acoustic tiling system, which was developed in collaboration with BSW and Building Adhesives Limited.
Regupol 7210C: Isolating floors from impact sound, Regupol 7210C – an underscreed solution – offers a competitive acoustic solution that is both quick and easy to install. In addition to this, a guaranteed material thickness of 5 mm ensures that construction height can be minimised and controlled.
“Regupol 7210C is targeted primarily at large developers and contractors looking for a high-quality, low-cost solution for new-build apartments and hotels. With a sharp rise in the number of these developments in the UAE, contractors need a product that is quick and simple to install – which Regupol 7210C can deliver,” says Hackett.
Developed to offer new-build constructions a cost-effective solution, Regupol 7210C has achieved an average measurement of 46 dB through independent on site testing – exceeding the minimum requirement of 62dB or less specified by UK Part E regulations.
Regupol 4515: “For those who require an acoustic underlay, Regupol 4515 delivers a tough and durable acoustic solution, designed specifically for projects where screed isolation is not practical.
“An overscreed material that attenuates impact sound at source, Regupol 4515 is quick and easy to install. The material is first bonded to any base floor and then the finish is applied directly on top.
“Designed to be flexible, Regupol 4515 can be used with all floor finishes, including ceramic tiles, laminates and soft flooring.
Regupol 4515 tiling system: 'Working in collaboration with BSW and Building Adhesives Limited, CMS Acoustics has developed the only acoustic tiling system to be approved by the UK Tiling Association. Independent testing of the tiling system has demonstrated that it achieves a Coefficient of Restitution figure (0.56),” says Hackett.
The main component in the system is Regupol 4515, a high-performance acoustic underlay which isolates impact sound at source. Regupol 4515, which can be used with any finish, is first bonded to the construction’s base floor using Ardex AF200.
Tiles are then laid on top of Regupol 4515 using the newly-developed Acousti-Bond adhesive. Depending on whether the base floor is concrete or timber, an appropriate grout is then used to fill in the joints, completing the acoustic tiling system.
Vibration solutions
Sound expert CMS is set to develop its remit further, with the launch of CMS Vibration Solutions. This natural extension of the CMS portfolio will deliver the full range of anti-vibration and structural isolation solutions.
“CMS Acoustics has a proven track record for delivering high-performing solutions, achieving this by specialising in acoustics provision and forging lasting partnerships with leading manufacturers.
“The decision to set up CMS Vibration Solutions was taken in response to an increase in the requirement for anti-vibration products in the market. Separating the key functions of our business into two distinct companies will allow each of them to focus on the specific needs and requirements of their respective fields. This will ultimately allow a better positioning of our acoustic and anti-vibration product offerings in the UAE,” Hackett concludes.
