MEP puts focus on customer service

01 March 2006

Comprising eight dynamic companies, Italy’s MEP Group – a global leader in the production and supply of the stirrup benders, straightening machines, bending and cutting machines, cage and pre-cage assemblers, mesh plants and lattice girder plants, cold rolling plants – is servicing its clients across the Middle East from its well-laid-out distribution network.

“MEP’s strong product line, which is characterised by patented and technologically-advanced solutions, has helped it gain a strong foothold in the Gulf market,” says a company spokesman. “The development of an elaborate network across the globe has made it possible for us to offer prompt, professional and standardised after-sales services. Through its regional headquarters based in Dubai, MEP is aiming to expand its business in the GCC region, besides enhancing its services to its clients.”

GAM 1500
One of the many notable products of the group is the GAM 1500, used to automatically produce cylindrical cages for ringed piles. “The procedure is based on the formation of a wire spiral winding around a series of longitudinal bars positioned in a circular order. The bars are sustained in a horizontal position by means of an appropriate fixed head and other mobile heads, which can be translated along guides,” the spokesman explains.
He adds: “The spiral formation system is fed by wire in a coil format located on an adjacent wire-unwinding payoff. The spiral has a programmable pitch and is attached to the longitudinal bars by continuous wire welding. This is carried out manually or can be automated by a special welding robot.”
With a history that spans over four decades, the group has made intensive investment in research and has always tried to anticipate the market requirements and roll out new and innovative products that meet the challenges of changing times.
From its inception in 1967, the company has adopted unique, patented and innovative technological solutions, and remained a leader in the coil-fed machine sector, says the spokesman.
Located at Reana del Rojale, Udine, Italy, the company offers a basic range of stirrups, shaped bars, cut-to-length bars and assembled elements such as pre-cages and cages as well as lattice girders and electro-welded mesh. These are essential in modern steel reinforced concrete structures.
The vast experience gained over the years has allowed the group to acquaint itself with all technologies and components and therefore, has the ability to deliver the machines and plants according to the customer’s specification.
“No matter what the requirement is in wire-processing machines for the reinforcement industry, MEP Group delivers solutions, from the simplest to the most sophisticated machines possible,” the spokesman concludes.
