Amman to host Iraq expo

01 April 2007

Exhibitors from across the world are set to take part in next month’s Rebuild Iraq 2007 in Jordan, which promises access to two key markets in the Middle East.

The fourth International Rebuild Iraq Exhibition and Conference will be held at the new 100,000 sq m Amman Exhibitions Park from May 7 to 10, and the organisers – the IFP Group, its Jordanian arm IFP Jordan, and Riyadh Exhibitions Company – are confident this year’s show will match the success of the previous event.
“Last year’s exhibition attracted 1,025 exhibitors from 49 countries including 38 country pavilions,” says an IFP spokesman. “The number of Iraqi visitors reached 4,025 contributing to the total visitor count of 13,445. The exhibition registered a huge number of Jordanian businessmen, at 7,886, as well as 1,534 visitors from Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, in addition to international visitors from 33 countries from across the world.”
He continues: “At $100 billion, the reconstruction sector in Iraq is one of the biggest in the world, and is going to continue growing as investment pours in and more projects get under way.
“Construction professionals who attend Rebuild Iraq 2007 will have two of the Middle East’s most vibrant construction markets at their fingertips. Iraq offers unparalleled construction investment opportunities, but so too does Amman, the capital of Jordan.
“Among the most prominent Amman projects currently under way are the Al-Abdali urban regeneration project – a new 80-hectare revitalised downtown city centre, the $1 billion Gulf Finance House-led Jordan Gate development, and the $362 million mega-tourism Saraya Aqaba project.
“Rebuild Iraq 2007 the perfect place for industry professionals to mingle with potentially-lucrative business contacts, gain brand exposure to decision-makers, and meet the public-sector officials and diplomats who can facilitate investment deals,” he adds.
