THE master developer and operator of the UAE’s first railway network has revealed its future plans for the nationwide railway project and its phases of implementation, while unveiling its new corporate identity at a press conference last month.

DOKA Gulf, a subsidiary of Doka Industry, has relocated to its new headquarters in the UAE’s Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), to support rising demand for its innovative formwork systems and service offerings.

STANDARD Chartered has broken ground on its new head office in the UAE, which will be a state-of-the-art facility that aims to meet the bank’s requirements and occupancy needs for the next 15 years.  The new office premises located in Downtown Dubai, adjacent to Emaar Square, will have eight floors, spanning 125,000 sq ft.

ABU DHABI-based group Abdulla Al Masaood & Sons (AMS) has signed an agreement with Fränkische Rohrwerke, a leading German manufacturer of corrugated plastic pipes, which entails building and operating a corrugated plastic pipes factory in Abu Dhabi. It will be implemented in two phases.

PLANS for an iconic terminal building for Abu Dhabi International Airport have moved forward with the release of a tender by Abu Dhabi Airports Company (Adac). The general contractor tender has been released for the Midfield Terminal building (MTB) that will cater to the airport’s dynamic passenger growth and support Plan Abu Dhabi 2030.

THE Abu Dhabi West School project is on track for completion in August 2011, according to the construction company Sammon Group. The school is among five prestigious school projects awarded to the group by Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC), as part of the Abu Dhabi Future School Programme.

SIEMENS Energy has received an order from Abu Dhabi for the construction of a turnkey combined cycle 1,600 MW capacity power plant. The company will build the Shuweihat S3 plant together with its Korean partner Daewoo Engineering & Construction Company 260 km west of Abu Dhabi.
