Concrete solution

01 September 2009

TECWILL will premiere its modern concrete production solutions at Saudi Build, with its eyes firmly set on the expanding construction sector in Saudi Arabia.

Topping Tecwill’s product-line at the expo will be a new model of the Cobra mobile concrete mixing plant that can be rapidly commissioned and easily transferred. It has a capacity of 30 to 160 cu m per hour.
Its modularised and compact concrete plant, Tower, with a capacity of 60 to 500 cu m per hour and the aggregate cooling system WillConcool will be the other products constituting the line-up.
“Tecwill’s long presence in this field has enriched its experience into becoming world leaders in the manufacture of high-quality mobile concrete plants and control systems, offering customers a reliable and sophisticated solution for the production of concrete,” says a spokesman for the company.
Tecwill manufactures concrete mixing plants with production capacities ranging from 30 to 500 cu m per hour, concrete plants for building projects, bridges, ports, factories, towers, readymix concrete production and producing concrete for block and element factories.
“Sustained product development supported by the latest technology and uncompromising attention to customer satisfaction are fundamental to Tecwill’s operations,” says Janne Tuomikko, marketing and sales director.
“We’re looking to expand in the Middle East, especially Saudi Arabia, by setting up offices and agencies and Saudi Build will help us reach our target audience,” he adds.
Tecwill was established in 1995 in Finland. With its domestic market being small to absorb its growing capacity, the company has felt the need to explore new markets, according to Tuomikko.
The need to pursue this goal has become paramount considering the dip in sales this year after an excellent performance last year, he adds.
Tecwill has attained several major technological milestones, placing its concrete production plants in a class of their own. The patented Cobra concrete batch plant represents the newest approach to concrete plants in the field. The fully-functional plant can be commissioned quickly, easily, and economically and relocated to new sites. It functions as an efficient stationary plant, yet its patented special structure enables relocation.
Thanks to a patented special construction, a Cobra plant can be fully assembled already at the factory. Structurally, the plant is composed of factory-tested modules and the electric and automation connections between the modules are made with rapid connectors. “After the factory preparations, the on-site installation and production start-up are quick,” explains the spokesman. “The result is a highly-efficient and compact concrete mixing plant that can produce high-quality concrete in all environmental conditions and can yet be quickly and easily relocated when needed.”
A huge production capacity, high-quality concrete and mixer options are some of the outstanding features of this plant that is designed to operate efficiently in harsh climatic conditions.
The Cobra standard models – Standard, Mini, Mobile and Super – offer a reliable solution for different production needs. The aggregate silo can be a standard model or specially tailored to customer needs.
Tecwill has also developed a special Cobra model for ash stabilisation. This plant can process hazardous ashes by using applicable binder materials in such a way that heavy metal in the ash will not dissolve and transfer back to the environment. The stabilised ash can be used, for example, in ground engineering.
A Cobra bentonite mixing plant is designed for effective and high-quality mixing of bentonite clay. Thanks to the unique weighing and mixing system of the plant, the bentonite clay, soil, possible water and additives can be mixed homogenously.
Tecwill’s Tower plant can also be transported, erected and commissioned relatively easily and quickly. The modular layout along with the Vertec vertical conveyor system helps to greatly reduce the plant footprint, enabling it to adapt to a large variety of sites, including city environments. Besides this, the total investment in a Tower plant is less than standard stationary plants today, Tuomikko says.
Large, insulated aggregates storage allows operations at a distance from the gravel pit and aggregate temperatures remain constant regardless of weather conditions due to the closed filling system design.
All Tower plant modules are factory pre-fabricated that includes electricity, lighting and heating. The modular construction allows easy and cost-effective transport and quick installation.
The Tecwill plants have also been equipped with the in-house WillControl system, a modern, user-friendly, fully automatic Windows-based control system, that leverages today’s latest bus technology and data transfer methods enabling reliable and fast operation.
The system helps in the control of concrete production from mix proportion to quality control. It can be assembled from suitable control modules according to the customer’s application needs. The software application can be designed, for example, for readymix production or for both readymix and precast production. It can also be retrofitted to existing plants to upgrade concrete production.
It can be linked to the customer’s information system, such as billing, material ordering or concrete dispatch centre, offering versatile reporting features that respond to the needs of concrete producers.
Tecwill’s other products and services include planetary mixers, twin-shaft mixer, concrete recycling systems, bentonite mixing plants, ash mixing and stabilisation plants, equipment for mixing plants, parts and services, installation, supervision and training.
Tecwill will be present at Stand J221 in Hall 4.
