Industry forum to visualise future

01 November 2010

FOLLOWING the success of the inaugural Gulf Industry Forum in January this year, senior officials from the worlds of government, industry and business are set to gather again at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre (BIECC) in Seef, Bahrain, on February 9, 2011 for the second edition of the forum.

The forum is held alongside HCE’s flagship Gulf Industry Fair, to be held from February 8 to 10, 2011, at the exhibition centre.

Top-level speakers and delegates at the meeting will discuss highly relevant topics including: Powering Industrial Development, The Industrial Workforce, Market Innovation, and Creating Industrial and Manufacturing Businesses.

Organised by Bahrain-based Hilal Conferences & Exhibitions (HCE) in association with international consultancy North Star Associates, the forum offers an opportunity for businessmen and industrialists from the Gulf region and further afield to exchange information, views and opinions under the theme ‘The Future is Industry’.

HCE conference director Ahmed Suleiman said: “The inaugural forum in 2010 laid the foundations for HCE’s vision to develop Bahrain as an intellectual meeting point by bringing together leading regional and global experts to share their views on industrialisation. The Gulf Industry Forum provides a platform for constructive dialogue and ideas among key decision-makers and industrialists in an environment of debate, unfettered by distractions of self-promotion.”

The Gulf Industry Forum 2011 is being held in a period of continued economic growth in the region as GCC governments proceed with massive industrial investment programmes and the stabilisation of oil prices to Opec-acceptable levels, according to the organiser.

The future of industry in the region is sustainable, particularly for manufacturing and services sectors, which will see a steady stream of business opportunities in the next few years, HCE adds.
