Steel-framed buildings in focus

01 November 2010

NEW Zealand’s Framecad, a pioneer in steel frame construction, hosted an expo in Dubai, UAE, last month (October 4 to 6), showcasing the latest developments in new building technology from around the world.

The second edition of the Framecad Expo, supported by New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, demonstrated how steel-framed homes are fast becoming the most sought-after building solution worldwide, offering advantages in speed, superior value, safety and sustainability.

Highlights at the expo included a low-cost house design, which can be built in just 22 hours using Framecad technology, and a display of the company’s acclaimed ‘Factory in a Can’ that was unveiled at the last edition of the expo. This self-contained steel frame production facility is housed in a container and can be trucked or air-lifted into any location and made operational within 24 hours of being sited, even in areas where there is little or no infrastructure.
