Algeco sees good business for 4000KD unit series

01 March 2013

FOLLOWING an impressive performance in Qatar during 2012 – its first year of operations in the country – Algeco, a world leader in modular space and secure storage solutions, has set itself an aggressive target for growth this year.

The UAE-based company says it has recently introduced the 100MB Blast unit into the Qatar market, which has been well received. It currently has 4000KD unit series and Batex on various long-term rental agreements in the country.

“The 4000KD unit series can be assembled to enable the creation of complex and multi-purpose structures up to two storeys high, while Batex is a storage warehouse as strong as a traditional building boasting features such as being anti-seismic and anti-intrusion,” says Jim Muldoon, general manager for Algeco Middle East.

He sees vast potential to develop business with the introduction of the 100MB Blast unit into the Qatar market especially in the run-up to Fifa World Cup 2022. “Globally as a company, Algeco has been involved in all major sports events. We see this as yet another great opportunity for the 4000KD to play a great part in what will be required to prepare and deliver the Fifa World Cup venue,” he says.

Commenting on how business has been over the past year, Muldoon says Algeco surpassed all expectations for its first year of operation in Qatar and finished 2012 in a very strong position.

“Qatar has remained steady and has been careful with how it has planned and executed its expansion,” he adds.

As for 2013, he says the start of this year has been within expectations, adding that the company’s plan includes growing and strengthening business with aggressive targets to see Algeco “lead the market and raise the standards to a new level of expertise”.

Algeco, an Algeco Scotsman company, offers space rental solutions throughout 22 countries. The company’s fleet of 231,000 modular space and storage units is leased through a network of 150 locations.
