DUBAI Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) has awarded a consultancy services contract to Ted Jacobs Engineering Group (TJEG) to design and supervise the construction of its new project, the Solar Innovation Centre.
Kettle Collective will work closely with TJEG as the lead architect for the project, which was launched by Dewa with support from the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy.
“Dewa designs and develops innovative projects in the field of clean energy to further support sustainable development in Dubai,” said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, managing director and CEO of Dewa.
“The Solar Innovation Centre is a sustainable architecture and a value-adding facility to the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. The landmark design celebrates the unique identity of the energy park, reinforcing a sense of green Dubai as a leading example of sustainable development regionally and internationally. The building will be a platform to showcase the latest solar and sustainable technologies and highlights Dewa’s achievements in this field,” added Al Tayer.
The centre, which is expected to be completed by November next year, will be a main focal point for companies, researchers, university students, individuals working in the field of solar energy as well as for developers and manufacturers of clean-energy technologies.
“We are delighted to have been selected for this project, not only because of the competition that we were up against but because of the importance of this building in the future of Dubai,” said Tony Kettle, director and design principal of Kettle Collective.
