Oman seeks rail consultants

Oman Railway has floated a tender for picking a consultant for its ambitious rail project that will link all the three major ports in the country: Salalah, Sohar and Duqm.

The consultancy contract will be for 15 years, reported the Oman Daily Observer.

The winning consultant will provide key services including operation and maintenance, infrastructure, rolling stock, management, railway facilities, mass transit system and auxiliary services such as transportation logistics to ports and mines.

Multiple consultants will be awarded the contract for the next two years with two possible extensions of one year each depending on Oman Rail’s requirements.
