Global Source offers long-term support

01 May 2017

Armed with a portfolio of many globally renowned brands, Global Source Trading has been focusing on supplying the Saudi market with quality, value-for-money products that bring down project costs in the long run.

Whether the products are plastic welding tools, cutting and coring equipment or drilling equipment, the common underlying factor with all these brands is that they provide a very high value for money to the user and therefore result in a cheaper project outlay, says Mohamed Shawi Aqla Al Anaizy, the company’s CEO.

“We believe that in an educated and advanced market like Saudi Arabia, sooner or later, customers come to prefer such products rather than opting for those that merely offer cheap initial costs but expensive outlays in the long run,” he says.

Al Anaizy believes that this, coupled with the strong financial fundamentals of Saudi Arabia and the capable leadership of the country, ensures that Global Source enjoys excellent prospects in the Saudi market.

Global Source’s product offerings include plastic welding equipment from Leister of Switzerland; drill bits for professionals from Diager of France; diamond-cutting tools from Samedia of Germany; professional and heavy-duty diamond blades and coring bits from Belgium’s Carbodiam; polyethylene-coated manhole step-ladders from Linktech of India; professional abrasives from VSM of Germany; and precast lifting and fixing accessories and warning tapes from its own brands G-Lift and G-Safe, respectively.

The Saudi-based company now plans to expand its extensive portfolio very soon with the addition of a renowned European brand of plastic pipe welding machines.

Global Source also offers engineering and metal fabrication services through its in-house fabrication facilities.

The company has offices in Riyadh and Jeddah and operates from its showrooms and warehouses spread across Saudi Arabia ensuring total customer satisfaction, by providing product support and after-sales services with the help of a team of dedicated and committed service-oriented professionals.

“One of the reasons our customers have been loyal to us is our commitment and support in solving their problems or meeting any of their requirements, irrespective of the size, timing or intensity of the problem, as long as the solution is within our reach or control,” says Al Anaizy.

The company is also an Aramco-approved vendor.

Daimler Commercial Vehicles Mena last year marked a major milestone with the sale of the 100,000th Mercedes-Benz Actros in the region to Al Khaldi.

Global Source ... customer focus.

In terms of projects, Global Source is actively supplying the Riyadh Metro project, Jazan Economic City, King Abdullah Economic City, Kingdom City, Northern and Southern Borders project as well as projects for the ministries of defence and housing.

Highlighting that Global Source is an agent for Leister in Saudi Arabia, Al Anaizy says the brand is a global leader in plastic welding solutions and a renowned name in the country.

Al Anaizy says that as a partner for Leister, Global Source adds a lot of value to the end-user directly and indirectly for its products. Global Source boasts service centres in multiple locations, availability of spare parts and skilled professionals to service Leister’s products quickly and efficiently throughout Saudi Arabia.

Its excellent back-up and the fact that plastics are replacing a lot of traditional material in the construction industry and finding growing use means that people are increasingly utilising machines to work with them.

“As such, Global Source and Leister are committed to educating and training our clientele on the use and advantages of Leister welding tools,” he says.

Global Source regularly conducts seminars, live product shows and hands-on training for Leister products in various market segments such as the flooring, roofing and civil engineering industries. In fact, its upcoming seminar for the roofing industry is in mid-May 2017, in Jeddah (Further details can be obtained by emailing the Leister Products Manager on info@globalsourceksa.com).

In terms of business, last year was slower as compared to 2015, says Al Anaizy. However, the fact that “this was primarily due to various restructuring and reprioritising of projects at a strategic level by the government, the optimism levels and market positivity had not waned,” he adds.

The company utilised this slow period to streamline its activities, eliminate excesses and enhance its competitive advantages.

“And, as a combined result, we already have a good start to 2017 and can really feel stronger positive vibes already,” says Al Anaizy.

In addition, the company is expanding its presence on the internet, by working in parallel on an e-platform to make commerce easier for its patrons. It is also investing in non-traditional sales channels in order to harvest the potential of such new channels.

The company is an active participant in construction shows in Saudi Arabia, having recently exhibited at The Big 5 2017 in Jeddah and will also be at the Saudi Build 2017 in October in Riyadh.

Global Source Trading was established in March 1993. It has two offices in Riyadh and Jeddah and a total of three warehouses, two in Riyadh and one in Jeddah. In addition, it has a fabrication workshop in Riyadh and service centres and showrooms in Riyadh and Jeddah.
