Al Rajhi Holding, a well-established and diversified business group with activities ranging from petrochemical industries, plastic converting industries, building solutions, contracting and infrastructure to real estate development, has drawn up ambitions development plans to propel the growth of its industrial sector.

The Saudi-headquartered group, spearheaded by its CEO Engineer Ali Al Jameel who leads the ambitious plan to develop the industrial sector, is looking at boosting its global profile and expanding its export arena by increasing its industrial capacity and wide product portfolio.

Among its major plans are the expansion of one of its key units Mada Nonwovens (NW), a leading manufacturer of high-quality polyester nonwovens spun-bounded and needle-punch in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena).

Mada Nonwovens is set to establish a thermal bonding unit by the end of this year, which will help the company launch a new range of nonwovens produced to international standards, that will position Mada as one of the most important industrial centres for nonwoven polyesters in the world.

The Jubail-based venture has recently launched PET (polyethylene terephthalate) nonwoven geotextiles that can be used in the construction of pavements, railways, road reinforcement and landscaping, among other applications.

To enhance its global exposure, the company regularly participates in major regional and international events in its sector. “For instance, Mada Nonwovens, led by our CEO, recently participated at the Index 2017, the world’s leading nonwovens showcase, which was held in Geneva, Switzerland last month (April 4 to 7),” says Tommi Bjournman, Mada NW president.

Mada Nonwovens was among the 666 exhibitors at the leading nonwovens exhibition, which attracted some 12,758 visitors.

Mada offers roofing, geotextiles and other industrial products that provide superior performance as they are manufactured using the latest direct spun needlepunch technology from ORV of Italy, according to Dr Ahmad Farag, Mada NW sales and marketing manager.

Polyester nonwoven high-performance geotextiles are suitable for use in a range of applications including drainage, reinforcement and filtration applications in construction and infrastructure and related industries.

Mada roofing products comprise polyester nonwovens that are spun-bonded, needle-punched and chemically bonded. These are widely used in the production of APP and SBS bituminous membranes, waterproofing in construction and for insulation.
