UBM offers Hunter Douglas line

01 May 2017

In line with its commitment to provide clients quality materials that meet their project requirements, the Saudi-based Universal Building Materials Merchants (UBM) Company offers a wide range of window coverings and architectural products from Hunter Douglas, a leading manufacturer in this sector.

The Dutch manufacturer’s architectural products include sun-control solutions, suspended ceilings, and ventilated façade systems.

“UBM represents Hunter Douglas to meet the requirements of architects, interior designers, contractors and builders in Saudi Arabia,” says a spokesman for UBM, a leading player in the kingdom that offers clients quality building materials through an extensive range that meets their total project requirements.

Hunter Douglas offers an unparalleled breadth of solutions and expertise to manage heat and light inside and outside windowed walls as part of its sun control mechanisms.

What makes Hunter Douglas’ window-covering products so special is their proprietary fabric shades which are consistently recognised for excellence in design, styling, features, quality and breadth of selection. These include Duette honeycomb shades, Silhouette and Pirouette window shadings, Luminette privacy sheers, Vignette modern roman shades and Facette shades.

The company’s EOS 500 roller blind systems offer superior control with uncompromising installation comfort, quality and durability. From manual shades to fully-automated systems, these blinds come with superior hardware and an unmatched range of fabrics that provide an excellent solution for controlling light and glare.

Also from Hunter Douglas are Luxalon metal ceiling systems that facilitate a wide variety of designs and applications, including curved and specialty shapes. Techstyle acoustical panels deliver superior noise reduction, a clean, monolithic look and easy access to the plenum.

“Techstyle ceilings offer the easiest access in the industry. The integrated clip-hinge system leaves panels clean and untouched, allowing them to swing safely away during access. With a push of a button, the panel disengages and opens up, allowing total access to the plenum. We recommend the use of the secondary T-grid system, ensuring the stiffness and squareness of the ceiling grid, for the best acoustical results,” says the spokesman.

Hunter Douglas’ portfolio also includes wood ceiling systems that are available in all kinds of wood, allowing architects to explore the natural characteristics of the material, including growth patterns and colour variations. Apart from the variety of wood types available, UBM also applies different finishing techniques that further define the look of the ceiling design, he says.

Meanwhile, sun louvre systems from Hunter Douglas blend style and functionality, bringing a distinct look to a building’s exterior while providing shade and comfort to the people inside. High-quality materials are used to produce dependable louvre systems, which can be projected to the façade, parallel to the façade or otherwise designed in relation to the angle of the sun.

Also offered by UBM are products from NBK, a Hunter Douglas company and a pioneering manufacturer of terracotta façades.

The UBM spokesman says: “NBK’s Terrart has opened up a completely new dimension in façade design. Architects around the world appreciate the tremendous creative and performance possibilities offered by this terracotta façade system.”

Combining traditional craftsmanship with advanced manufacturing technology, Terrart enables the finest design details to be developed in shape, colour, texture and glazing for unique tailored solutions. With large, medium, light, shingle and baguette ranges, the versatile Terrart system offers architects maximum scope for creative expression, the spokesman says.

The individual components of Terrart Terracotta Façade are manufactured to maximise shape accuracy and guarantee best fit.

Founded in 1979, UBM has branches throughout Saudi Arabia and supplies a wide range of specialised building materials from stock as well as from direct imports for any specific requirement.

The Architectural Division of UBM was formed in October 2015 to serve the growing market demand for top quality products like façades, ceilings, window coverings and sun control solutions.

By promoting reputed architectural brands that synergise with its existing line of business, UBM has seized the opportunity to further consolidate its position as a comprehensive ‘concept to delivery and beyond’ service brand.
