Omani authorities have begun a feasibility study for the construction of a new port near Sur Industrial Estate in the sultanate, said a report.
The study will be ready by the first half of the current year, reported the Times of Oman, citing a report by the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE).
Plans are also afoot to establish a total of 24 projects in the industrial estate, which include four new factories that entered production phase.
Further, a 1-km road was paved in cooperation with construction firm Khalid bin Ahmed and Sons in Sur. The total leasable area within the industrial estate is estimated at 23.66 million sq m, of which 6.72 million sq m have been leased, said the report.
