Five new hospitals for UAE

The UAE Ministry of Public Works and Housing is to set up five new hospitals under a Dh240 million ($65.3 million) project.

A ministry source said the new hospitals would be designed to meet the highest international standards. The Al Amal Hospital will be opened in Dubai while others will be established in Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Umm Al Quwain.

Expansion work will also be carried out at Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Hospital in Abu Dhabi, according to media reports. In Sharjah, a new gynaecology, obstetrics, children's hospital and Muzairae Hospital will be built. A new heart unit will be added to Al Qasimi Hospital. Two general hospitals will be opened in Ras Al Khaimah and Umm Al Quwain, said the source.
