Indian practice opens UAE office

01 May 2004

Rajiv Khanna and Associates (RKA), a leading Indian architecture practice, which specialises in recreation and leisure design work, is opening a representative office in Sharjah as a part of its expansion plans for the region.

The firm, which is currently designing a family fun centre for the Landmark Group at the Reef Mall in Deira, Dubai, is looking to forge regional joint ventures, says director Rajiv Khanna.
RKA has been designing leisure parks, water and snow parks and other recreation projects for 23 years and has offices in India, Canada and the US.
The company also participated in the recently concluded Theme Parks and Fun Centres 2004 (TPFC) show at Dubai International Exhibition Centre following its successful debut at the fair last year, he says.
Says Khanna: “As an established design consultancy in India for more than 20 years we are now concentrating on the Middle East where we would like to broaden our work base. TPFC was a big success for us last year as we got one project out of it and have others in the pipeline.”
He adds: “This region is rapidly developing into an international tourist attraction and added recreational and leisure facilities will make it an enviable destination.”
TPFC 2004, which is organised by International Expo-Consults (IEC), celebrated its 10th anniversary and attracted exhibitors from 25 countries.
