Reach Contracting diversifies operations

Reach Contracting, which launched operations last November as a Bahrain-based contracting firm, has witnessed tremendous growth within a short span and has already diversified its operations to include trading.
Having expanded into the decorative paints sector offering a supply-and-apply service using paints imported from Italy, the company has now extended its portfolio to include supply and installation of custom-made carpets for the residential and commercial markets.
“We have just been appointed as agents in the Gulf for United Carpet Industries and will be looking at promoting this exciting range of custom-made carpets at the gulfBID show in May, where we will be making our debut,” says Ali Al Alawi, owner and general manager of Reach Contracting.
Sharjah-based United Carpet Industries, which is located at Hamriyah Free Zone, manufactures superior quality custom-made hand-tufted carpets in any size, shape or colour. These carpets are manufactured using 100 per cent New Zealand wool and 100 per cent Japanese acrylic yarn, to meet the requirements of a variety of clients in applications ranging from homes to service organisations, and royal palaces and hotels to government departments.
“We can supply carpets in virtually any size, texture and colour including hand-tufted and machine tufted varieties. Delivery can be made in around four weeks, depending on the design and complexity of the order. These carpets can be colour matched to the customer’s precise requirements,” Al Alawi explains.
Reach Contracting has already secured a large contract to supply custom-made carpets for a palace in Dubai.
Commenting on business levels since Reach Contracting was launched, Al Alawi says: “Business has been great and we are actively looking at expanding even further.”
Having started operations with an initial portfolio worth BD50,000 ($132,600), the company’s turnover has grown multifold, with the bulk of its business generated by the contracting sector. Among the major projects in hand include three seven-storey buildings in Hidd and five luxury villas at Mahooz in Bahrain.
Reach Contracting is now poised to open a showroom in Isa Town near the Toyota car servicing centre in Bahrain.
