THE 2010 Qatar Sustainability Conference, which was held under the theme of energy and water efficiency, highlighted best green practices in building technologies last month (April 13 to 15).
It was held concurrently with Project Qatar 2010 and focused on sustainable policies, products and services. The conference, in its second edition, aimed at examining options for alternative energy sources, particularly water and solar power.
Project Qatar 2010 – the seventh international trade exhibition for construction technology, building materials, equipment and environmental technology – and the sustainability conference served as a platform for experts from the construction industry to address sensitive green issues.
Organised by IFP-Qatar, the conference aimed to bring a fruitful collaboration between the government, non-governmental organisation and private entities in order to prioritise the use of sustainable building technologies. The forum featured three sessions that focused on green building designs, a case study on the Museum of Libya in Tripoli and building secure and sustainable water supplies.
