Yammine embarks on major expansion
01 June 2010
YAMMINE Contracting Company (YCC) has embarked on a Middle East expansion, which saw the opening last month of a branch office in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, as a first step.
The UAE-headquartered company is a specialist in diamond cutting of reinforced concrete, concrete coring, rebar fixing (mechanical and chemical anchor fixing), and waterproofing.
Founded in the UAE in 2003, the company later expanded its horizons by setting up offices in Qatar (2004) and Bahrain (2008) and this year in Saudi Arabia.
YCC recently added a waterproofing division in a bid to expand its scope of services which, according to newly-appointed Bahrain branch manager Ahmad Awad, is expected to increase the company’s prospects in the coming months.

“Yammine Contracting, which registered good growth in the first quarter of this year, did well even during the past year, despite the recession. With our new waterproofing division, we see even brighter prospects for our company,” he added.
YCC intends to expand its activities to the other GCC countries and diversify activities as part of its future plans.
Some of the specialised activities YCC is involved in are:
• Concrete core drilling, including and horizontal, vertical and inclined coring with hole sizes 6 to 500 mm diameter of any concrete thickness;
• Concrete cutting by using a wall saw – cutting into reinforced concrete up to 730 mm thickness – including breaches and openings for window and doors, and horizontal, vertical and inclined cutting;
• Concrete cutting by using a diamond wire – cutting into reinforced concrete and large openings of any shape and thickness;
• Concrete cutting by using a floor saw – cutting concrete and asphalt up to 180 mm in thickness, and cutting for expanding joints;
• Rebar, chemical anchor and mechanical anchor fixing – fixing all type of anchors as per specifications set by Hilti, a provider of leading-edge technology to the global construction industry; and
• Concrete demolition, with the help of breakers.
