The Airport Show ... networking opportunity.

70 hosted buyers to be part of Airport Show

01 April 2011

PREPARATIONS are in full swing for Airport Show 2011 devoted to airport construction, operations, technology and services in the region.

The 11th edition of the show in Dubai will offer high quality networking and business opportunities, when products and solutions for new and expanding airports of the region go on show. Organised by Reed Exhibitions, the show will be held from May 31 to June 2 at Airport Expo adjacent to Dubai International Airport under the patronage of Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, president of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, chairman of Dubai Airports and chairman and chief executive of Emirates airline and Group.

Among the highlights, a dedicated ‘Hosted Buyer’ programme will gather more than 70 hosted buyers from 20 different countries including representations from airports, airport authorities and contractors nominated by exhibitors.

Mohamad Bader-Eddin, show director, Reed Exhibitions Middle East, said: “Hosted Buyers last year were interested in IT, security and operations equipment and machines such as control tower equipment, talking systems, runway repairs, CCTV access control, airport fire training equipment and bird control equipment. We expect this year to be as resourceful for vendors and buyers.”

Year after year, the show attracts more than 5,000 local and international visitors from several sectors including airlines, airport authorities, construction suppliers, consultancy, contractors, equipment suppliers, government, military and the media. With such a large gathering of visitors under one roof, the event is the perfect place for exhibitors to network, launch new products and services, strengthen ties with existing customers and create new ones, as well as increase awareness of their brand while monitoring the competition, says the organiser.

The Airport Show 2011 reflects the magnitude of the developments and business potential that exists in the GCC countries, where airport projects worth $90 billion are being developed over the next few years. Hosting suppliers of equipment and services covering all areas of airport development and operations under one roof, the show will serve as a one-stop platform that caters to the needs of the region.

A two-day conference will offer a forum for all sectors in the airport industry and their civil aviation partners to debate, network and do business in the Middle East, North Africa and India (MENAI). Themed respectively around airport growth and airport development, each conference day will focus on the critical issues impacting on the region’s fast-moving airport industry.

The newly-launched CEO’s Forum will feature some of the industry’s senior-most business players to discuss the major projections for airport growth plans in the wider MENAI region. The programme will also include sessions on how the environmental agenda is impacting on airport development, security and innovations.

The Airport Show is supported by Dubai Airports, Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Abu Dhabi Airports Company (Adac), UAE Contractors Association, British Aviation Group, British Airport Services & Equipment Association (Basea), Danish Airport Group, Ubifrance (the French Agency for international business development), and the Netherlands Airport Technology Group (Nat).
