A RANGE of highly innovative, functional and secure solutions for building envelopes that suit a variety of requirements will be in the limelight at The Big 5 Saudi at the stand of Reynaers Aluminium, a leading European provider of architectural aluminium systems.
These innovative and sustainable architectural aluminium solutions will comprise a wide range of products such as sliding elements, fireproof profiles for doors and windows, curtain-wall façade and roof systems and advanced ‘green’ solutions.
“From small villas to high-rise buildings to unique architectural projects, Reynaers has solutions for every requirement,” says Ali Khalaf, managing director of Reynaers Middle East, the regional office for Reynaers.
Among the new products that the aluminium specialist will be displaying are the CP130PA and CP130LS. “The new CP 130 parallel sliding and lift and slide elements provide design flexibility along with high performance and enhanced burglar resistance.
“An additional benefit of the system is the option to use it in combination with the Ventalis system – the CP130 HI and Ventalis provide an inbuilt solution for improved ventilation,” says Khalaf.
Other products promoted at the show include the CS77 FP (fire proof) profiles for doors and windows, W100 and RW105 profiles, CW50 SC curtain-wall façade and roof system and CW65 EF SG façade.
The CS77 FP is a thermally improved three-chamber system for windows and doors that boasts the optimum combination of safety and comfort. Based on the existing CS 77 profiles and accessories for windows and doors, the CS77 FP is tested in an optimised European test and approval programme. Khalaf says that the fireproofing time span is achieved by inserting a special cooling material into the profile chambers and by using self-adhesive and water-resistant swelling gaskets. These gaskets do not need to be sealed, reducing fabrication time of the profiles and saving costs, he points out.
The RW100 and RW105 combine a strong aluminium base with a wood finishing, offering an innovative hybrid product suitable for those looking for the appeal of a wooden profile with the benefits of aluminium.
The CW50 SC curtain-wall façade and roof system offers immense creative freedom and maximises on daylighting in the building, he says, adding that the SC (structural clamped) façade system ensures maximum transparency. The system offers 11 individual styles with various external appearances.
CW65 EF SG is an element façade (EF) that enables unitised façades to be completely pre-assembled in the workshop, speeding up work on site. The glass is structurally glazed (SG) making the system well suited for high-rise constructions. Profiles can easily be adapted to fit projects, depending on the requirements.
Also on show will be a range of “green’ solutions such as CW60 Solar, BS 100 Solar and RB 10 Solar.
The CW60 Solar is a building integrated photovoltaic (PV) curtain-wall and roof system that offers an aesthetic pleasing as well as high-tech ‘green energy’ solution. The purpose-designed profiles enhance the installation and maintenance of the PV components and cabling. The new face caps are designed with a minimal height to maximise the absorption of solar energy and minimise the shading on the photovoltaic panels.

Reynaers’ BS (Brise Soleil) system – BS 100 Solar – is designed to provide an aesthetic and efficient shading solution to almost any building. This type of sun blind consists of a series of different PV panels.
And the RB 10 Solar is an aluminium balustrade system that has been tested in recognised test centres in accordance with the most stringent European standards and guarantees optimum levels of safety, he says. The system caters to the requirements of a variety of aesthetic shapes – functional, ellipse or Softline – and also allows the incorporation of solar panels.
Citing reasons for Reynaers’ participation at The Big 5 Saudi, Khalaf says: “The Big 5 series is the largest building and construction event in the region that offers a networking platform for the industry, while providing access to the opportunities afforded by the Saudi market.”
“It is an unrivalled opportunity for international business and networking. Corporate minds from diverse cultures come together, promoting cross industry learning,” he says. “Also, Saudi Arabia is the most active construction market in the GCC. With a market heavily fuelled by domestic consumption, Saudi Arabia represents a significant hub of opportunities for the local, national and international industry players.”
To tap the opportunities in the Saudi market, Reynaers has recently hired three new sales managers to cater to the Eastern, Central and Western regions in Saudi Arabia.

The company’s products are currently being installed at the C180 tower in Jeddah, following their earlier major successes such as the Ramada Hotel and Sehamia Tower in Al Khobar. Reynaers is supplying its CW50 SC curtain-wall façade and roof system to the C180 tower, which has been designed by Retaj Architects and Consultant Engineers.
The Al Sehamia Tower has also used the CW50 SC over a total area of 4,511.72 sq m. The tower has been designed by Hussein Murad Architectual Firm. The Ramada Hotel, too utilised the CW50-SC over a total area of 2,450 sq m. The project was designed by Vision Architectural Design Office.
Headquartered in Duffel, Belgium since 1965, Reynaers is a global aluminium systems company with offices in 30 countries and exports to more than 60 countries. It provides a wide variety of window and door systems, curtain-walling, sliding systems, sun screening, conservatories, skylights, solar systems, and sunscreens which incorporate blinds and ventilation grids.
“At Reynaers, we are constantly developing our systems through extensive research and development to provide additional comfort and aesthetics, while also ensuring energy-efficiency and security,” says a spokesman for Reynaers.
Bahrain-headquartered Reynaers Middle East has been providing hi-tech aluminium architectural solutions for the growing construction needs in the region since 2004.
Reynaers’ products will be promoted at Stand 1E58, Hall One, at The Big 5 Saudi.
