GIESSE Gulf Group, part of Italy’s Giesse Group, will be coming to this year’s Big 5 Saudi with a view to consolidating its presence in the entire Middle East.
Giesse is a European leader in manufacturing hardware and automation for aluminium windows and doors, including slidings, curtain-walls, doors, special openings (lift and slide, tilt and slide), inward and outward openings and automation.
“We are participating at The Big 5 show to increase our market knowledge and get closer to market operators, consolidate our leading position within the Middle East’s construction industry, and increase market share,” says Massimo Romagno, sales manager, Giesse Gulf Group.
Giesse intends to showcase a range of new products at the expo such as parallel arms for automated windows, a multilocking system for doors, its Unica Cremone bolt to enhance safety, Linead 3D hinge for doors featuring a new panic device, Tempo multilocking system for sliding windows and doors, the Os Operator for top and side-hung limiting windows, and Eurogroove arms for side and top hung windows.
From a small workshop making hardware for aluminium windows, Giesse has in its 40 years of activity become an established international holding company and a leader in its sector, with an average annual turnover of $90 million for the period from 2007-2011.
Last year was a good one for Giesse, despite the slump in the market. In fact, the company managed to increase its market share, thanks to its good ties with market operators such as consultants, architects, developers, window fabricators and system companies, Romagno.
As the UAE has been witnessing a downtrend, Giesse has been focusing on boosting its overseas presence through its strong partnerships, he adds.
Globally, the Giesse Group has introduced a new business line, Essenza, for the engineering and manufacturing of full frameless systems for windows and doors. The group is now focusing on its growth strategy, which entails the development of new products and solutions for existing markets; consolidation of partnerships with all distributors in the Gulf region, particularly in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Bahrain, and Iran through intensified marketing and commercial activities; and penetrating new markets.
Meanwhile, Romagno calls for greater quality-consciousness in the region’s construction market. “The construction industry in the GCC needs to turn to good quality products for high-performing solutions, to meet international standards,” he says.
Giesse has already built up a healthy project portfolio in the region. Its products have been used on the Indigo Tower, Madinah Tower, Palm Jumeirah, Arabian Ranches, Discovery Gardens, International City, Al Murooj Complex, Dubai Marina, Juma Al Majid Towers and Crystal Plaza in the UAE; and the Corniche Dream Tower and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in Jeddah, Corniche Dream Tower and Princess Nora University in Riyadh, King Saud University, Clock Tower Royal Hotel and Al Hodaifi Tower in Saudi Arabia.
