Belhasa secures Fewa pipe project

THE Watertec division of the UAE-based Belhasa Projects has won a major project from the UAE’s Federal Electricity and Water Authority (Fewa) to supply a DN 600 transmission pipeline from Thouban pumping station to Masafi WDC (water distribution centre).

The company will be responsible for the supply, installation and testing of pipes spanning about 17 km.

Greg Garner, CEO of Belhasa Projects, said: “We won the contract against strong bids from other competitors. Our experience and history of working on similar projects in the past helped us to score a point. We have already started work in Fujairah.”

The company also won the contract for the design and construction of two 10 million gallons of reinforced concrete (RCC) pre-stressed water tanks with associated piping at Burairat in Ras Al Khaimah. This is in addition to winning the bid for the design and construction of two 4 million RCC pre-stressed water tanks with piping components at Shokha in Ras Al Khaimah.

The combined value of the three contracts is more than $25 million.

Belhasa Projects, a specialist in swimming pool construction, is one of the largest of its kind in the region in the sector. The company’s constructed pools can be seen in palaces, hotels, leisure complexes and villas.

The company has also diversified into sports coatings, landscaping and maintenance, wet infrastructure, concrete repairs, equine pools and MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing) services.
