Bahrain Marina plans in the spotlight

Bahrain Marina Development Company will be promoting its iconic Bahrain Marina development, a prime lifestyle and leisure destination in the heart of the kingdom’s capital, at the Gulf Property Show.

Stretching along a pristine coastline in Manama, the project is being billed as a world-class tourist and family-friendly destination. It will include a five-star hotel, serviced and freehold apartments, waterfront villas, a fully-integrated family entertainment centre, cinema complex, boardwalk, marina, yacht club and a recreational waterfront space with dining and retail facilities.

Yazan Kamal Haddad, the CEO of Bahrain Marina Development Company, tells Gulf Construction, that the company’s participation at the property event this year focuses on showcasing the floorplans and the unique features Bahrain Marina has to offer in terms of freehold apartments, waterfront villas, entertainment centre, retail and dining areas, a marina and a yacht club.

At last year’s Gulf Property Show, the company debuted the masterplan development, which gained the attention of many investors, contractors, retail outlets and potential buyers.

“Our previous participation was aimed at revealing the masterplan and raising awareness of the development and its unique features which include state-of-the-art residential, commercial, leisure and marina facilities,” says Haddad. “Since then, we have been working on the construction, with the aim of announcing sales in the near future.”

Haddad is happy with the progress made on Phase One of the project, which he says is in accordance with the proposed timeline set. The project is targeted for completion by 2020.

“The first stage of the project includes the enabling and marine-related works, including silt removal, earthworks, shore protection, quay walls and culvert crossings in preparation for the construction stage of the project. The project has witnessed rapid progress compared to previous years when the contracts were successfully awarded to key consultants.”

Haddad adds that construction on the marine works phase has commenced and the progress so far has been on schedule. “We are confident to meet the deadline with the rapid progress we are witnessing,” he says.

Commenting on the Gulf Property show, Haddad says it is one of the largest shows of its kind in the kingdom, is highly anticipated, and a great platform to showcase Bahrain Marina Development’s unique waterfront development.

“The event showcases Bahrain’s latest developments in the real estate market to the Gulf and an international audience, and so it is crucial for us to be part of such an important event. It has allowed us to exhibit the Bahrain Marina project, which aims to attract local and foreign investment. The event is also a great opportunity to network with the biggest names in the industry.”

He adds: “Taking part in this exhibition is vital in establishing a presence for the company, and gives a powerful platform for meeting new customers, retailers, investors and contractors, expanding our customer base, as well as reaching out to existing clientele. It’s also a great opportunity to learn in which direction the industry is or isn’t going.”
