Eleven contractors in fray for Al Raha Gardens project

Aldar Properties has announced that 11 leading UAE contractors have been invited to bid for the construction of the 1,388 villas that will make up its Al Raha Gardens community development east of the city.
The contracting companies approved to bid are: Al Hamed Development and Construction, Al Meraikhi General Contracting, Al Meraikhi Industrial Complex, Ali & Sons Company, Arabtec Construction, Al Fara’a General Contracting Company, Al Jaber Building Establishment, Commodore Contracting Company, Civilco Civil Engineering and Construction, Nael General Company and Target Engineering Construction Company.
Bids are due to be submitted by August 31, 2005, with the selected contractor due to begin work on site during September. The first phase of villas is due for completion in August 2006, while the whole project is due for completion in December, 2008.
