Gulf property expo to debut in Bahrain

01 January 2013

Hilal Conferences and Exhibitions (HCE) is set to launch a property show in Bahrain in a bid to complement its current portfolio of construction and interiors shows and offer a one-stop shop for visitors.

The Gulf Property Show 2013 will be held from May 7 to 9 at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre alongside the well-established gulfBID and gulfInteriors exhibitions organised by the Bahrain-based HCE.

Strategically sponsored by Manara Developments, the show will build on the excellent track record of the gulfBID and gulfInteriors shows in the building, construction and interiors markets, which attracted more than 6,500 visitors last year.

Regional property developers from Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Kuwait are set to attend the upcoming exhibition, which is being held with the support of Bahrain Property Developers Association (BaPDA).

HCE managing director Jubran Abdulrahman said: “HCE’s vision for the Gulf Property Show is simple – we aim to complement the gulfBID and gulfInteriors shows and create the ultimate one-stop shop for visitors. The show, therefore, adds another important dimension to these exhibitions. Combining access to the three major elements in the residential and commercial property development value chain, the shows will under one roof showcase the latest architectural and design trends; material procurement; and the very latest in interior design capabilities, from specialist finishes to the latest kitchen and bathroom designs.”

“The unique aspect of the Gulf Property Show is that it will cater to different segments of the market,” he added. “There will be opportunities for visitors to see affordable, high-end as well as residential properties besides commercial and industrial facilities.

“Potential buyers will also be able to avail the support of financial services firms who will be present at the exhibition.”

Housing remains an important developmental issue in Bahrain and the new expo is set to showcase all segments within that sector, Abdulrahman said.

“Government spending across the GCC will be huge, especially in the housing sector,” said Abdulrahman. “All indications show that there are positive movements in the public sector real estate development, which will trickle down to the private sector.”

The Gulf Property Show will serve as a vital platform for property developers, buyers and investors to meet and discuss what is happening in the market, Abdulrahman said.

Arif Hejres, chairman of BaPDA, a key driving force for the property development sector in Bahrain, said: “The Gulf Property Show provides a welcome boost for Bahrain’s real estate sector. We are working closely with HCE to ensure that its conception and delivery is very much in keeping with the needs our members and that of the real estate sector as a whole. The real estate sector is a vital indicator of economic growth and development for any economy and this importance is reflected in the Gulf Property Show.”

The Gulf Property Show is a dedicated event promoting real estate, property developments and related services in Bahrain, the Gulf and wider international market.

The three exhibitions carry the support and encouragement of the government of Bahrain, under the patronage of the Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.

Bahraini companies exhibiting at the Gulf Property Show will be supported by Tamkeen to help enhance the business opportunities available from exhibitions.
