More than 180,000 visitors attended this year’s edition of bauma China in Shanghai, China, registering an increase of 16 per cent from 155,615 visitors in 2010.
The international trade fair for construction machinery, building material machines, construction vehicles and equipment was held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre in November (27 to 30) on an increased exhibition space of 300,000 sq m – 30 per cent up on the previous event.
More than 2,718 exhibitors from across 38 countries showcased their products at the show. Eugen Egetenmeir, managing director of Messe München, said: “bauma China braved all market tendencies. In this respect, it was held just at the right time. The show once again proved to be the key business platform for companies to tap into the Chinese market, as well as Greater Asia.”
Zhichao Chen, marketing director at Sany Heavy Industry, said: “bauma China brings us a tremendous amount of purchase orders. This trade show always has the same objective with its exhibitors: to expand and grow together.”
After China, the top 10 visitor countries and regions included Russia, Korea, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Turkey. bauma China also featured eight national pavilions, namely Austria, Germany, Finland, the UK, Italy, Korea, Spain, the US and – for the first time – a joint stand of exhibitors from Incheon City, organised by the Incheon Chamber of Commerce in Korea.
