THIS year’s edition of bauma broke all previous records for visitor and exhibitor numbers and exhibition space, with the organiser summing up the response as “simply outstanding”.
The leading trade show for construction machinery, technology and vehicles held last month (April 15 to 21) at Messe München exhibition centre in Munich, Germany, registered an attendance of 530,000 visitors from more than 200 countries and 3,420 exhibitors from 57 countries.
The proportion of international exhibitors was higher than ever at 2,074.
The latest products and innovations in construction and mining machinery were showcased on a record exhibition space of 570,000 sq m.
Klaus Dittrich, chairman and CEO of Messe München, said: “Our exhibitors were delighted with the quality of the visitors here and with the international representation. Good business has been done here. With over 200,000 visitors from outside Germany, the number of international attendees was higher than ever before. The response this year has simply been outstanding.”
The ‘Top Ten’ countries of origin among the visitors were Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, the Russian federation, France, Netherlands, Great Britain, Sweden and Poland. Indonesia, bauma’s partner country this year, was also strongly represented, with a high-ranking political delegation and around 800 visitors.
The next edition of bauma will take place from April 11 to 17, 2016 in Munich.
