DSA Architects to design boutique hotel in Oman

01 July 2013

SARAYA Bandar Jissah, the company developing Muscat’s newest integrated residential and leisure development, has signed a contract with DSA Architects International for the design of its 106-key boutique hotel.

Under the contract, DSA Architects International will provide lead consultancy services for the design of the hotel, which is the second of two five-star hotels at the Saraya Bandar Jissah site in Oman.

The design of the first hotel, of 206 keys, is approved and the tender for construction has been floated in the market.

The 106-key hotel will be fully designed by lead architect DSA Architects and its engineering partner WSP, in the style of an Omani village. Other design consultants include Aedas, which will be responsible for interior design and Verdaus for landscaping.

Sheikh Hamood Al Hosni, CEO of Saraya Bandar Jissah, commented: “This contract is the final step in the design of the hotels and the vital last link in the complete development design. We are very much looking forward to starting work with DSA Architects and seeing the complete vision of the project come to life.

Steve Kelshaw, managing director and Peter Davison, project manager, DSA Architects International, said: “Saraya Bandar Jissah project is an important part of the tourism strategy for the sultanate, but which also has its own interesting story to tell.”

The hotels will be operational in 2017.
