IN LINE with its diversification plans, Salem Saleh Al-Hareth (SSH) Establishment, a fully Saudi-owned contracting and trading company, has recently installed a fully automatic production line for block making from the China-based Quangong Machinery (QGM).
Working exclusively for Saudi Aramco as a prime contractor on lumpsum turnkey (LSTK) and turnkey general construction projects, SSH last year decided to expand its business to include block making. Following a study of the market, the company opted to procure a large block-making unit – the T15 – from QGM, a leading manufacturer of concrete machinery in China and a supplier of block-making production lines.
The T15 automatic block machine can produce concrete products, such as hollow blocks, pavers and curbstones, ranging from 50 mm to 400 mm in width and SSH’s new T15 production line has the capacity to produce about 25,000 hollow blocks per shift, each measuring 400 by 200 by 200 mm.
QGM last year unveiled the new-generation T series automatic block-making machine, comprising the T10 and T15. This series is designed and manufactured based on the highest international standards, with all components of the machines meeting European standards. T series block-making machines are said to provide stable, fast and high-performance production.
The vibration system of the T15 incorporates four Siemens motors (each 7.5 KW) for the vibration table and two MVSI motors (each 5.5 KW) for vibration at the top.
“The vibration motors are of the S1 working mode, which means motors continue to running even when vibration stops, hence there is no surge in current on start-up. This protects motors from damage and saves energy,” said a spokesman for QGM.
He continues: “Also, the link between the vibration motors and table is a ‘soft connection’. By adopting this method, the vibration table will not be affected during vibration. The vibration damping device and air cooling system are installed under the base of the vibration motors to protect the motors.
“The vibration table, which is easy to assemble, dismantle and maintain, consists of dynamic and static tables, made of heavy-duty Hardox steel. Its structure design guarantees the desired vibration amplitude, which is one of most important criteria for producing high-quality concrete blocks. The gap between dynamic table and static table (vibration amplitude) is adjustable.
“The ‘finger car’, the transportation device for pallets of blocks between elevator/lowerator and curing chambers, can carry 24 pallets of blocks each time with a load capacity is up to 16 tonnes.”
Established in 1979, QGM is a leading Chinese specialist in the design and production of plants and machinery for concrete material industry, providing integrated solutions for concrete block-making plant, autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) plant and concrete mixing plant.
The company provides integrated solutions including feasibility study, cost and return of investment analysis, factory layout design, installation and commissioning, operator training, electrician and mechanic training and technical consultation. It offers a wide range of services through its worldwide network during the entire operating life of its block making machines.
