UK-BASED company Thrislington, along with its UAE distributor, Synergy Building Systems, showcased its wide range of toilet cubicles, including the innovative Flowlite system at The Big 5.
Flowlite, a recent addition to Thrislington’s products portfolio is described as the first of its kind, emitting a light that can change colour by the second.
“The colours can be completely specified and can link to the lock, creating a different colour cubicle if either used or engaged,” said Jeff Orme, international director of Thrislington. “Built using the same tried-and-tested technology behind our Flow system in glass, this is a unique cubicle system in the world.”
Oasis smart is another innovative product from Thrislington. “The system has been designed to change the way people view washroom space today. The doors shift from being clear glass to completely opaque as soon as the lock is engaged thereby providing the user maximum privacy,” Orme said.
The company participated at The Big 5 with a view to create awareness of the brand in the region.
“We came to the show to get the flavour of the region as the event attracts visitors from all over the Middle East and the Indian subcontinent. We are now getting a lot of enquiries from this region.
“Businesswise, 2013 was our best year. The US and the Gulf region are two important market for us. We do a lot of projects in the US, but the contract values are low, whereas in the Middle East we do fewer jobs, but of high contract values since the projects are very big. For example, we supplied 250 cubicles to Doha Convention Centre and 435 units to World Trade Centre both in Doha, Qatar; and 650 units to Princess Nora University in Riyadh Saudi Arabia,” he said.
