Geberit wins Gaia award for green sanitation solution

01 January 2014

GEBERIT International Sales has walked away with a Gaia Award in the kitchen and bathroom category for its Geberit Duofix, a 100 per cent recyclable product.

The annual Gaia Awards, which honours green construction products and equipment, was held as part of The Big 5 Dubai.

Geberit Duofix, regarded as sustainable sanitation solution, aims to contribute to increased quality of life with low energy and water consumption and is made with ecologically friendly materials. The water-saving product is also easy to use and has reliable technology, while ensuring quick installation procedures and lifetime value. It does not require electric power or heating for installation and is compatible with all types of projects – in drywall construction, in wall or prewall installations.

It is safe, environment-friendly and is manufactured using resource-efficient production processes that utilise an increasing proportion of renewable energy.

Concealed cisterns, which are the core products within Geberit installation systems, have been continuously improved and optimised for many years, the company said.

Geberit Duofix’s self-supporting height adjustable element with its state-of-the-art design will also keep solid-borne sound in check, reducing noise generated by domestic installations. The fire protection sleeves in the cistern prevent fire from spreading horizontally.

“We are extremely proud to receive this award, and as a company we lead the way to provide perfect water solutions with reduced consumption, energy saving, low-noise and durable products,” said Stefan Schmied, managing director and head of Gulf region.

Geberit International Sales is part of the Geberit Group, a European market leader in the field of sanitary technology.
