Redler Limited, the UK-based bulk materials handling and storage specialist has been awarded a £3 million ($4.74 million) by Kuwait Flour Mills and Bakeries Company for the extension of its storage silo and associated conveying equipment.
There are currently four concrete grain silos on the huge site complex in Kuwait - two of which were provided direct by Redler and one equipped by Redler through Henry Simon. The current contract will see an extension to a silo built by Redler in 1993 now requiring expansion due to increased demand.
The silo will be extended by 87 cells to provide an additional 100,000 tonnes of storage. Redler is supplying two lorry outloading facilities, 25 new chain conveyors to fill and discharge the silos, extensions to another six and a new belt and bucket elevator. The package also involves the supply of eight new weighers and bagging lines with a capacity of 600-800 bags per hour each.
Redler will be drawing upon its expertise in project management to co-ordinate all activities on the project which is due for completion in February 2003.
